On September 16, at the age of 85, Mykhailo Kuzmych Rodionov, a Ukrainian politician, director of the Information Society Development Center, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, professor at the Department of Microelectronics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, passed away.
Mykhailo Kuzmych graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1964. He worked as an engineer, an assistant, an associate professor, a vice-rector, and a professor. In 1971, he defended his thesis and got a degree. He gave lectures on courses for graduate and postgraduate students.
He took an active part in public life from his student years. He was the head of the group, the head of the student council of the dormitory, the founder and member of the first student construction brigades.
In 2002, he was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine for a multi-mandate nationwide district.
Mykhailo Rodionov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the medals "For the Development of Virgin Lands", "In Commemoration of the 1500th Anniversary of Kyiv", " Veteran of Labour ", and the Excellence of Education of Ukraine badge.
