On the occasion of the International Students' Day, Solomianskyi District State Administration in Kyiv awarded the best students of the district for their high achievements in education, research and active participation in public life. Students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were among the awardees.
Meet Serhii Pryz, a third-year student of the Institute of IEE. He is studying at the Department of Geoengineering and is obtaining a bachelor's degree in Mining. He is responsible for his studies, confidently plans his future and works hard to realize it. He not only has high academic performance, but also proved himself as a young activist - he headed the trade union of students of the Institute of IEE. Therefore, he regularly participates in various university events and is involved in the implementation of a number of projects aimed at helping students during martial law. In particular, he actively worked during the "great relocation" on campus, is a participant in the Smart Shelter project - the creation of the first "smart" shelter in Ukraine, became one of the leaders in the manufacture of trench candles, organized by the KPI Trade Union and recorded in the National Register of Records of Ukraine.
The department believes that Sergiy is an example of the best modern student who combines initiative, perseverance and creativity. And it's not just about academic and social success. S. Pryz's creative work also includes participation in scientific projects of the Institute of IEE. "He is a regular participant in scientific and practical student conferences, which indicates a deep interest in science and a desire to deepen his knowledge and expand his range of scientific interests," says Professor Natalia Zuevska, Head of the Department of Geoengineering. In particular, the student took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Problems of Mining and Construction", the international workshop "Implementation of "green" and digital technologies in international educational environment", etc.
"Serhii's participation in such events not only deepens his understanding of the subject, but also opens up new horizons of innovations and trends in the chosen field of mining, which is aimed at the integrated development of underground space using modern mining technologies for post-war reconstruction," adds Viktoriia Vapnychna, Associate Professor of Geoengineering.
Sometimes it seems that some students have the ability to study/work 25 hours a day and nine days a week, they manage to do so much. In his free (!) time, Serhii was improving his professional level at the construction organization Ukrainian Monolithic Construction Company LLC, which performs subcontracting work on foundations and monolithic frame construction. Next year, he plans to do an internship at Egis Ertle Engineering, an international company that designs industrial and infrastructure facilities.
His energy, desire to develop and improve deserve the respect of teachers and the student community, the Department of Geoengineering of the Institute of IEE is convinced.
