In the last month of the previous year, representatives of the Educational and Research Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and teachers and representatives of the administration of the city of Yahotyn, Kyiv Oblast, organized and held a career guidance meeting, which was attended by 130 eleventh-graders. The event was held in compliance with the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine.
Intending students received interesting information about the glorious history of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the scientific achievements of its employees and students, the educational process organization, and the peculiarities of studying at the Educational and Research Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management, etc. Experienced lecturers told schoolchildren about the achievements of their departments, facilities and resources, and the university library holdings.
A presentation about the composition, scientific and educational activities of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management was delivered to students and their teachers. The Department of Power Supply provided information on the laboratory facilities: electrical devices, energy supply technologies, power supply systems, installation and operation of electrical equipment, etc., the Training Centre for Energy Management; the Department of Automation of Electrical and Mechatronic Complexes told about their laboratory facilities: converting equipment, automation of technological processes. They were also shown the latest technologies of the practical training, in particular, demonstration and educational stands and physical models created by teachers and students of the institute.
Of course, the terms and conditions of the 2023 university admissions process were also discussed during the meeting.
Hlib Demchuk, Deputy director of the IEE for career guidance, Stefan Zaichenko, professor of the Department of Automation of Electrical and Mechatronic Complexes, and Vitalii Pobihailo, Scientific Secretary of the Academic Council of the IEE, addressed the guests. They talked about the advantages and prospects of studying in specialties 141 "Power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics" and 184 "Mining". The guests also learned about the prospects of international scientific activities and education, which are open to students of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management, about career assignment and employment of the graduates, housing conditions in the dormitory No. 16, and recreational facilities for students during the holidays.
