Dear Kyiv polytechnicians! Please, accept my cordial congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Education Workers! Our professional holiday was founded by UNESCO in 1994. According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated September 11, 1994, it is celebrated in Ukraine on the first Sunday of October.
Teachers' Day is respected all over the world and in every culture. Today, in independent Ukraine, almost 860,000 teachers, educators, masters of industrial training, academic staff and managers teach and foster more than a million preschoolers, more than five million schoolchildren, and teach the future specialty to almost three million students of the country.
In 2022, the Day of Education Workers falls on a dramatic time for our country. More than 30 Ukrainian universities, hundreds of schools and preschool educational institutions were destroyed by the war, tens and hundreds of thousands of teachers, pupils and students were deprived of the basic conditions for teaching and learning, about 400 children died and more than 1000 were injured.
Kyiv polytechnicians continue to perform their employment duties conscientiously: to teach, to master new knowledge, to carry out scientific developments, to help the defenders of the Motherland in every possible way, to lay the foundations for the reconstruction of the post-war country.
Let us remember that the intense, daily work of a teacher brings us closer to Victory, to the rebuilding of a new, successful, sovereign country.
Most heartfelt thanks to you for your noble work! Allow me to extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of our professional holiday, dear Kyiv Polytechnicians!
