This year, for the first time, the staff conference of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was combined with the annual session of the university academic teaching staff, which marks the beginning of the new academic year. This is clearly enough, as due to active hostilities taking place in the immediate vicinity of Kyiv, and the physical absence of a significant number of workers and students in the city, it was just impossible to prepare and hold a conference in April.
Therefore, this joint event took place in the Assembly Hall of the University Academic Council on September 1. It opened with a thorough report on the results of the university staff work in the past academic year, and the main tasks for the year that has begun, which was addressed to colleagues by Michael Zgurovsky, the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (see pages 2-4). He analyzed the activities of the university staff in the conditions of the 2021 pandemic and the war, spoke about main achievements and, emphasizing the need to improve the university's activities in accordance with today's needs, formulated an agenda for the new academic year.
Mykhailo Bezugly, the chairman of the trade union committee of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and Ihor Stepaniuk, the chairman of the students trade union committee, reported on the results of the Collective Agreement fulfilment during the period from April 2021 to September 2022 (see pages 4-5).
Oleksandr Yatsun, the chairman of the Kyiv City Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine, who took part in the conference, told the audience about the peculiarities of the organization’s work in this difficult period, and the tasks it focused on.
The meeting ended with a speech by Michael Ilchenko, the Chairman of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He addressed the participants with the proposal of the Academic Council commissions to create a Foundation to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the university, which was approved by unanimous consent.
According to the results of dealing with the items on the agenda, the Staff Conference of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute decided to: adopt the reports of Michael Zgurovsky, the rector of the university, Mykhailo Bezugly, the chairman of the trade union committee, and Ihor Stepaniuk, the chairman of the students trade union committee; to approve the work of the rector of the university Michael Zgurovsky for the reporting period, and to recognize it as satisfactory; recognize the fulfillment of the Collective Employment Agreement of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute concluded for the period 2021–2024, for the period from April 2021 to September 2022 in general. In addition, the conference approved the composition of the working commission, composition of the commission on labor disputes, and the composition of the council on housing and welfare issues for the duration of the Collective Employment Agreement of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute; and also adopted a resolution on the creation of the Foundation for support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the election of its board.
