Two Universities Intend to Become a Platform for the Development of the Aerospace Industry
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, DNU, National Youth Aerospace Education Center and Pivdenmash have joined for collaborative work.
On June 16, representatives of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, the National Youth Aerospace Education Center and Pivdenmash met. The goal is to unite two powerful scientific schools, expand existing academic mobility programs and student projects, and create opportunities for students to find employment at Pivdenmash after graduating.
Present at the meeting were: representatives of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Rector of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University Serhiy Okovytyy, Director of А.М. Makarov National Youth Aerospace Education Center Oleksii Kulyk and General Director Assistant for Human Resources of the Southern Machine-Building Plant Vitaly Patoka.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has agreed with Dnipro National University to improve the agreement on cooperation in the fields of educational work, methodological support, research and, in particular, academic mobility signed in 2019. Until now, there has been a joint academic mobility program for students majoring in speciality 134; dual education with the NGO Association Noosphere, Firefly Aerospace and Flight Control LLC was provided. The universities agreed to expand this cooperation to other specialties. Universities will also train staff for the leading machine-building plant Pivdenmash in Dnipro. An extension of existing student projects has been agreed with the National Youth Aerospace Education Center.
Colleagues from Dnipro learned about the achievements and opportunities of the All-Ukrainian Innovation Ecosystem Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine (SCU) - an open innovation ecosystem that unites the country's institutions interested in the development of Ukrainian innovative economy: universities, research institutions, government bodies and local self-government authorities, business companies, foundations and public organizations. The organizer of the interaction of all participants is the Innovation Ecosystem Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Pivdenmash is in dire need of production and engineering personnel, and therefore the efforts of both universities will be aimed at training specialists for this enterprise as well. Our two universities intend to become a platform for the development of the aerospace industry, given the capabilities and achievements of their scientific schools, the experience of training world-class professionals.
