Dear Polytechnicians! On these May days, we honor the older generation who had to go through the deadly fires of World War II.

World War II is the worst war, as well as in Ukrainian history. We remember that more than 10 million Ukrainians laid down their lives in this terrible tragedy to enable us to live freely.

163 students, lecturers and employees of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute paid with their lives for the May Victory of 1945.

In our aspiration for independence and freedom, we are now again forced to defend with arms our choices and rights.

On February 24, the russian federation treacherously carried out a full-scale invasion and launched an open war against Ukraine.

Thousands killed and wounded people, millions of refugees, utterly destroyed towns and villages, about a million forcibly deported citizens of Ukraine to depressed, remote regions of the russian federation.

After deoccupation of Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the whole world saw the atrocities of the inhumans: looting, rapes, robberies, tortures, executions of civilians - these are the true colours of the russian occupier.

Unfortunately, our team did not miss the loss:

  • Artem Klimov, a graduate from FSP, a cavalier of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III degree (posthumously); Olexander Antonyuk, a student of FEA; Maxim Levin, a graduate from TEF, holder of the Order "For Courage" (posthumously) died heroically;
  • Olexander Bevziuk-Voloshyk, a student of FSP, and Denis Tkachov, a student of FEA, went missing during a combat mission;
  • Vladyslav Bychkovsky, associate professor of RTF, died in the occupation;
  • Jimmy Hill, the head of the English language student club, a US citizen, died.

May the memory of the fallen live forever!

University staff and students came to the defense of the Motherland from the very first hours of russian aggression.

Thousands of polytechnicians are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, voluntary formations, and the volunteer community.

During the war, the university continues its work. The educational process is going on, the conditions for admitting new students are being formed, and the activities in main areas are being done.

Polytechnicians provide comprehensive assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Lecturers, staff, students participate in numerous programs to develop the latest models of weapons and military equipment, means of protection of soldiers on the battlefield.

Our resistance, our faith in Victory will not be broken down, because we contend for truth and defend our land!

History shows that our people are invincible!

Glory to the defenders of Ukraine of all times!

Glory to Ukraine!

With a sense of gratitude and appreciation
