On March 9-11, 2021, the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” held the VII International Scientific-Technical, Methodological Conference Online “Problems of Energy Management System –PEMS’21”. The conference participants discussed modern aspects of energy efficiency, energy management, and energy-saving; demonstration of scientific achievements and search for new solutions for energy efficiency and energy saving; implementation of energy efficiency policy and energy management for enterprises, organizations, and institutions.
Representatives of state authorities, businesses, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and foreign guests addressed the conference. Among the speakers, for instance, was Acting Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Kostiantyn Gura; President of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Energy Auditors & Energy managers Supreme Council of Ukraine” (AUPO “EAЕМSCU”) Vadym Ulyda; Ph.D., Professor of the Institute of Heat Engineering and Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology Konrad Swirski; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics NAS Ukraine Borys Basok.
The conference program included two sectional meetings: “Innovative methods and technologies for improving buildings energy efficiency” and “Management of energy efficiency”.
The conference also supported a panel discussion of the project “New Power Engineering Generation and Energy Markets”. The debates involved scientists, students of the Faculty of Mechanics, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology, and the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The discussion has presented a brief overview of the goal, tasks, and double degree study programs, master studies “New Power Engineering Generation and Energy Markets”. The conference also presented a study program approved at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Warsaw University of Technology. The conference participants also discussed the joint Master studies results in English (Polish and Ukrainian students took part). Both universities considered further cooperation after completing and implementing the project “KATAMARAN” of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA and the future of the study program “New Power Engineering Generation and Energy Markets”.
According to the conference results, a collection of works of the conference has been compiled. The collection is on the site pems.kpi.ua. Report publications will be published in the scientific journal “Energy: economics, technology, ecology” (еnergy.kpi.ua) by decision of the conference organizing committee.
