The XIX All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference “Current Issues in the History of Science and Technology” was held online on November 10-11. It was traditionally organized by the Ukrainian Association of Technical Museums, Dobrov Institute for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (STEPS Center of NAS of Ukraine), the State Polytechnic Museum at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Science, the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine. The conference was supposed to be held on October 1-3, 2020 at the National Historical and Architectural Museum “Kyiv Fortress”, which was the main in organizing the conference, but due to the quarantine restictions, it was postponed for a long time and eventually held online.
Traditionally, the topics of the reports were very diverse: the development of theoretical physics in the institutes of the NAS of Ukraine, the history of Ukrainian law, higher polytechnic education in Ukraine in the 1920s-1930s, the study of foot pathology at Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology, the development of bandura musical art in Ukraine, specialists training for the metallurgical industry at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1898-1930, fortification of Kyiv in the Middle Ages, the development of shipbuilding in Mykolaiv in the late XX - early XXI centuries, creation of the Military History Museum in Kyiv in the beginning XX century, the founders of the Metallurgical Faculty of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute: professor Kostiantyn Vashchenko and others.
