Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will now train specialists in the lift area of industry. Korea Lift College will be a scientific and educational partner of the project. The cooperation agreement was signed at an online meeting of the parties. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Lee Yang-Gu initiated the idea. Therefore, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will have a professional school for training specialists in the following areas: lift engineering, lift construction, lift installation and maintenance.
Professor Mykola Bobyr, Dean of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, will run this department at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, ‘We are extremely interested in scientific and educational cooperation with Korea Lift College. We hope for productive work. It is important for us not only to train high-level specialists, but also to be confident in their further employment. Therefore, we would like to find out all the details of the work of our graduates particularly in Korea. After all, clearly prospects will serve as an additional incentive for our students.’
Rector Lee Hyeon-Seok, Professor Young Jun-Go, Department Head Park Jan-Shik, Member of the Board of Directors Yang Young-Ho and a representative of the Institute Park Soung-Ok signed the memorandum from Korea Lift College. ‘Our institution takes a comprehensive approach, teaching from design to equipment maintenance. Our system allows specialists to find work not only as lift service personnel, but also to work in companies that develop and design lifts. In addition, we are interested in developing lifts working on space stations, so the fundamental experience in the field of astronautics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is very important to us,’ said Lee Hyeon-Seok.
Vice-Rector for International Relations Sergei Ivanovich Sidorenko headed the delegation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, ‘It is especially gratifying to note that it was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Lee Yang-Gu who initiated the idea. We are also grateful to Rector Lee Hyeon-Seok for his speedy and effective negotiations. It is extremely important for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute - as for the research university - that the two sides agree on not only educational but also research cooperation in the field of lifts and escalators, especially as part of projects such as smart city.
The participants of the meeting hope for productive cooperation and friendly relations, so they exchanged reciprocal invitations to visit educational institutions.
