Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the “Progresstech Ukraine” program with its “The dynamics and firmness of machines” master’s program of dual education became the first tandem of a technical university and a high-tech engineering company in Ukraine that got the certificate of European accreditation!
This document attests that this educational and scientific master’s program is completely relevant to the requires of the main European standards of EUR-ACE® of the ENAEE European accreditation net of engineering education.
According to Mykola Bobyr, the Principal of MMI and the Corresponding Member of NASU, the documents for accreditation had been preparing for a half a year. To be honest, the institute had a lot of years to work in order to get these documents, to have a high-tech staffing and scientific potential, to create an applicable material and technical basis, to provide an appropriate quality of education and to mend an effective cooperation with strategic partners and employers.
“The quality of education pre-evaluated within the cooperation with Poznan University of Technology (Polytechnic). Our institute works with this Polish technical university on the program of a double diploma, – Mykola Bobyr says. – Our five students set off to Poland for the master’s preparation, and later they got the highest marks for their representation of master’s works. We were praised for the quality of the students’ preparation by president of Poznan Polytechnic Tomash Lodyhovsky”.
Mykola Bobyr told us who had been checking MMI at the correspondence of training criteria of European standart: “The specific commission had been in our institute for two days, and it consisted of three professors from different Polish universities, and also the professor from the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, the undergraduate student of the Odessa National Polytechnic University, who is studying under the same educational program. Apart from this, it is also important to mention one more commissioner, who represented our strategic employer partner, the “Progresstech Ukraine” company, that made everything possible for the available accreditation. The commission was checking everything from the curriculum, the contents of programs of professional disciplines, methodological and laboratory manuals till the quality of diploma projects (10 projects, that were chosen by the commission members, were checked). In addition, the scientific practice of the department and, of course, the cooperation with employers were also checked. The interviews with the lecturers (without the participation of the administration) and students (without the participation of the administration and lecturers) were held separately. The commission also attended the Heorhij Pyssarenko Institute of Solidity Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where the chapter of our department of dynamics and firmness of cars and resistance of materials has been working throughout years. Besides, the two companies of “Boeing Ukraine” and “Progresstech Ukraine” also work, and they are the strategic partners of our institute, as well”.
By and large, we are congratulating MMI of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on the recognition of the European level of the quality of the specialists’ preparation!
