On 17 January, representatives of the “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” International Cooperation Department named after Igor Sikorsky and the faculties that train specialists for the energy industry met with Professor Konrad Swirski, Professor of the Faculty of Energy and Aerospace Technologies of Warsaw Polytechnic.
Professor Schwarz has brought some proposals to expand cooperation between the KPI. Igor Sikorsky and the Warsaw Polytechnic within the framework of the current agreement on their cooperation and involvement of scientists, teachers and students of both universities in participating in joint projects.
Vice-rector for international relations, corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine Serhiy Sidorenko, deputy head of LCA (international projects and information support of international activity) Serhiy Shukaev, director of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management Sergiy Denysyuk, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Technology Department , dean of the heat and power faculty Yevhen Pysmenny and others.
One of the important areas of cooperation between universities in 2019 should be cooperation in training future energy engineers, aeronautical engineers and space technology professionals. Particularly interesting for Polish colleagues are the programs of Kyiv Polytechnics to train specialists in nuclear energy (including those who will specialize in nuclear safety), as well as those who work in the field of renewable energy. Researchers and teachers at the Warsaw Polytechnic, for their part, can assist in the development and reading of energy market liberalization courses and the functioning of European energy markets. It should be added that Professor Konrad Schwirsky is one of the recognized experts in this field, who is currently involved in advising the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the issues of cooperation of scientists in the projects of the largest program of the European Union in the field of research and innovation "HORIZONT 2020", as well as in the projects at the expense of the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland "Polish aid for development" were raised. Besides, an agreement was reached to hold a joint student scientific conference this year.
