In the summer, a delegation from the Fukushima city trade union delegation, headed by President Tomohiro Otsuka, visited the Ukrainian-Japanese Center of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In the short time of their visit, the director of the center, Kateryna Lugovska together with its staff tried to explain as fully as possible about its versatile activities.
At the request of the delegation to the Center, during their visit, their Ukrainian colleague, the head of the Kyiv city organization of the Union of Education and Science of Ukraine Oleksandr Yatsun paid a visit; he told about the Ukrainian realities of the trade unions. We believe that this acquaintance will be the beginning of a fruitful dialogue between the members of trade unions of Kyiv and Fukushima.
During the tour, Japanese guests had an opportunity to get acquainted with the works of listeners of calligraphy courses and sumi-e presented at the exhibition hall of the Ukrainian-Japanese Center at the reporting exhibition “The Brushes and Carcasses”. The guests were so impressed with the skill to ask for a long time, whether these works were created by students of UJC courses, and not by professionals. The Japanese tea room, where the pupils of the Kyiv tea group directed by “Urasenke” tea room “The Tea Room” welcomed the guests with a fragrant drink.
Members of the delegation also met with students of Japanese language courses existing at the Ukrainian-Japanese Center. For course attendees, it has become a good opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice and get an interesting experience of communication with native speakers.
The Ukrainian-Japanese Center is boundlessly grateful to the guests for their interest in the Center's activities and numerous gifts from their homeland, Fukushima Prefecture, future exhibits of the new exhibition.
