For the second time, the Department of Chemistry, Technology of Electrochemical Production of the Chemical Technology Istitute of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute conducted (from April 17 to April 19) the All-Ukrainian Collegiate Contest "Electrochemical Technologies of Inorganic and Organic Materials". There were counted about 17 students from five Ukrainian universities (National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University (Dnipro), Kyiv National University, Kiev National University of Technologies and Design, Khmelnytskyi National University) who took part in it.

During the competitional, the participants had to demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The tasks covered several sections of electrochemistry: "Theoretical electrochemistry" (thermodynamics of solutions, kinetics, thermodynamics of electroplating elements), "Technical electrochemistry" (electrosynthesis of inorganic substances, electroplating, hydroelectrometallurgy, electrochemical ecology), "Chemical sources of current intensity", "Corrosion".

According to the results of three-hour hard work, the best team became the electromechanics from KPI: Serhii Mihas, Serhii Braichenko, Oleh Kuzmenko and Oleksandr Matveiev. Serhii Mihas took first place in the general participants rating, got the first-class honours degree and the undisputed victory of KPI students in Ukraine! We congratulate the winners and express our enormous gratitude to the staff of the Department of Chemistry, Technology of Electrochemical Production (especially, to the head of department O.V. Linyucheva and to the trainer of the team postgraduate student H.S. Vasiliev) for their persistent work and professionalism!
