On January 12, 2018 the meeting of the Academic Council of the University took place. It began with the New Year greeting of the rector M. Zghurovskyi.
The first issue on the agenda was the report of the first vice-rector Yu. Yakymenko on the changes in the structure of educational and scientific divisions based on the results of the first stage of self-analysis of graduating departments, whose goal was to determine the compliance of their indicators in the main areas of activity with the requirements of the Laws of Ukraine "On Education" "On Higher Education," state and university requirements for accreditation and licensing conditions for the implementation of educational activities for 3 levels of training for applicants for higher education, providing suggestions on optimization of the departments structure of the university, which must meet modern requirements in full. Yu. Yakymenko noted that until the end of the academic year at the university there should not be a single unit, does not meet the requirements of accreditation. It was decided on the basis of the results of self-analysis and suggestions of institutions/faculties on their reform and optimization of the structure of the units to conduct a selective union of the departments in order to ensure the possibility of implementing educational activities in three levels of training for higher education applicants.
The next issue was about the results of the work of the department of perspective development of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of 2017 and plans for 2018. Vice-rector of prospective development Oleksii Novikov reported on that issue. Oleksii Novikov outlined the functions and tasks of the department, presented the results of the university's informatization activities, disclosed the development of the property complex, optimized the use of the university's premises, organized the implementation of investment projects for the development, career guidance, the activities of the military training department and the Institute of Special Communication and Information Protection. The work of the social sphere, the labor protection department, the coordination of student initiatives and the activities of public organizations of our university were also described. In conclusion, the vice-rector Oleksii Novikov outlined the department's plans for 2018.
Further, the report of the vice-rector for Administrative and Economic Work of P. Kovalov on the University's activities on the maintenance and development of the material and technical base in 2017 was heard. P. Kovalov provided information on the costs of repair and restoration work and the development of the material base at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, reported on the distribution of repair works between individual performers. Issues were also covered on the content of the student's campus, the energy consumption and energy saving of the university. In addition, those present were aware of the draft promising proposals for the improvement of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and submitted a work plan for 2018.
Finally, the Academic Council considered competitive issues and current affairs, in particular recommendations for the election of vacancies to the members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the question of recommendations for printing periodical scientific publications of the University.
