"The one, who wants to learn - finds opportunities, the one, who doesn’t want - seeks excuses," this is the motto of Anastasiia Shakun, a student of the 4th year of XTF. She is studying on a new perspective specialization "Chemical technologies of cosmetics and food additives", which was founded in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute about 4 years ago. At the department Anastasiia has recommended herself as a diligent, hard-working, disciplined, creative and initiative student. Her success is achieved due to the persistency and desire to be the first. She received a nominal scholarship from the President of Ukraine this semester.
Anastasiia was born in the small town Vilnogirsk of Dnipro region. She always aimed at obtaining a decent education, showed her abilities since school age, was interested in educational activities and research projects. When studying at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Anastasiia takes part in scientific researches, professional conferences, is an active participant of public and scientific life of the university. She successfully uses all the knowledge and practical skills acquired to improve her scientific level.
As the student admits, "Studying at the Department of Physical Chemistry gives an opportunity to find your place in life, to understand which direction to choose in the future. I gradually move towards my goal – to have an interesting demanded profession, that’s why I study more and more professional disciplines which will not only increase my professional level, but also expand my outlook. I believe that every person must set himself a goal and reach it, because the main thing in life is to know what to do and for what to do. "
Despite being always busy with education and social projects, she finds time for "soul" affairs: travelling, socializing with friends and passing different courses.
Nowadays, Anastasiia is exploring scientific publications, works on a graduation bachelor project devoted to the development of a technological project, the purpose of which is to obtain a food additive - arabinoglyactate, which is used as a stiffener and stabilizer. "I would not now have had all the achievements without close cooperation with the scientists and lecturers of the Department of Physical Chemistry, who led me along the unknown paths of chemical science and provided a wonderful start to the scientific future. I am especially grateful to Professor O. E. Chyhyrynets and senior lecturer V. V. Vorobiova, who support and assist me in all the start-ups." A. Shakun confides.
So, let’s wish this young researcher the implementation of all her plans, to finish the studies successfully and to find a decent application of her knowledge.
