Dear veterans and present defenders of the Fatherland! Dear polytechnicians! On October 14, at the state level, the Day of Defender of Ukraine is celebrated, determined by the Decree of the President of Ukraine.
I sincerely and warmly congratulate you on this holiday!
This holiday was initiated with the aim of honoring courage and heroism, expanding the combat feat of the defenders of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity, preserving and developing national military traditions, winning the Ukrainian people, and contributing to the further strengthening of the patriotic spirit in society.
It is a holiday of memory of our proud ancestors who, with a pen and a word, a fire and a sword, fought for the right to independence of the native land; celebration of the Cossack victory; a holiday of gratitude to veterans of the Second World, who fought for their land. And finally, this is the day of all the heroes of the present who bravely defend the borders of Ukraine from the encroachment of the northern neighbor-aggressor, and all those who put their lives in the east of the country in the name of the sovereignty and unity of our state.
We bow our heads to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for the peaceful future of Ukraine. An Imperishable memory of the soldiers who have fallen in fights for free, independent Ukraine.

Since March 2014, more than 300 thousand warriors-defenders of the Fatherland came to the front. The first is volunteers, then - mobilized, now - contractors. Among them, 31 employees and 49 students of our university.
Day of the defender of Ukraine is a holiday not only of the military. It is a holiday of unconquered, conscious citizens who support the fate of our country, the day of all those who are not indifferent, who through their professional, teaching, scientific work, conscientious work and study, volunteer work provide protection to Ukraine - economic, humanitarian, and informational.
Our team did not stay away from helping soldiers-participants of ATO. From the first days of the Russian aggression volunteers, the staff of the university help on improvement of material and medical support of fighters. Scientists of the university have developed the newest models of weapons and military equipment. Among them: pilotless aviation complex; satellite intelligence; means of communication and managements; developments on cyber security; security technologies in commandant's service; modernization of the existing weapons and import substitution. The university seeks to provide any help to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Dear polytechnicians! Let the patriotism, strength of mind and inflexible belief in the happy future of the home ground give to all of us new forces and inspiration for implementation of future hopes and labor fulfillments. Peace, good and prosperity to our country!
Glory to our defenders! Glory to Ukraine!
With much gratitude and respect,
