The Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the DTPTGL, I. M. Baklan was the moderator of the conference.
Working languages of the conference were German, English, and French. Students demonstrated language proficiency and a huge desire for the practical use of foreign languages. Even without knowledge of a particular language, as it was with speeches in German and French, students tried to understand the main author's idea contextually, based on the slides, and they even discussed the topic of the speech using the English language.
At the plenary session, there were 9 speeches of the students from the linguistic and non- linguistic specialists with philological, economical, technical and chemical spheres of knowledge that prepared their presentations in English, German, and French. Their speeches were about such problems as innovations in the USA; structural and semantic features of the German youth slang in media; the interdependence between means of verbal and non-verbal communication and the "perception trap" generated by intonation; Verlaine in modern French spoken language; second position of the predicate in the circumstantial subordinate clause with the conjunction Weil; the role of synonymy in medical terminology; problems and trends in the development of social communication, etc.
The high activity of the conference participants turned into heated discussions at both the plenary and the sectional meetings, as at the plenary meeting, the students of different specialties had an opportunity to get acquainted with the work and the results of scientific researches of their colleagues. All interested members asked speakers, expressed their wishes and opinions about the report they heard. This emphasizes the interest of the young generation not only in their field of study but also in the interdisciplinary scientific and practical cooperation.
