In the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI" an exhibition of vintage electrotechnical exhibits of the late XIX - early XX century is held. It is organized with the support of "Siemens" concern and is timed to the 160th anniversary of the company's cooperation with Ukraine. This collaboration began with the 1853 contract for the laying of a telegraph line St. Petersburg – Sevastopol through Kyiv and Odessa and has been actively developing until 30 years of XX century. Then there was a certain pause, but in the early 90's full-scale partnership has not only recovered, but thanks to the framework agreement between the Ukrainian government and the company, acquired a new quality. The company took strong positions in the Ukrainian market and, by the way, works closely with NTUU "KPI". Separate stand "History of Siemens in the history of Ukraine" describes the landmarks of cooperation but it is not the only thing which attracts the attention of visitors. The most interesting for amateurs of the history of technology is, of course, examples of equipment. Among them – a small 1908 electric motor, volt-ohm meter and voltmeter of the early twentieth century, radio receiver and qualitative fittings which you can use even today, telex – a close relative of the well-known fax and so on. Due to the care of the organizers, all who attend the exhibition can not only have a look at technical items of the last century, but also learn about the history of their creation and modern technical items of the same purpose, that is why on the stand next to the each exhibit there is a comprehensive reference of the corresponding content. Thus, despite the small number of exhibits, the exhibition is really interesting and gives the opportunity not only to witness the wonders of engineering of the last century, but also learn something new about things seemingly known from school. Exhibition is held until December 11.
