Bohdan Kaidyk, the 5th-year student of TEF, was born in town Kolkakh on Styr river, Volyn region. His education has started in the class with specialization in physics and mathematics of local school. Curious, open-minded boy was an active participant of the II, III, and IV stages of all-Ukrainian scientific Olympiads among schoolchildren during his studies. He took second place during the fourth stage of all-Ukrainian Olympiad at geography. With his future profession he determined himself not very long. Possibly due to the close position of the Rivno nuclear power plant, he has chosen nuclear power – one of the most prospect branches of industry.
Without efforts boy entered Sevastopil National University of nuclear power and industry, where studied for 2 years. Nothing betokened changes. Later “green guys” came to Crimea and in 2014 Bohdan became a student of Department of Nuclear Power Stations and Engineering Thermal Physics of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The guy is striving for knowledge. Owing to persistence and dedication, studies in Sevastopil and Kyiv was not complicated and points in the record book are reflecting perfect results. During main studies at the KPI, he has successfully completed education at the Department of Military Training and made a vow of the loyalty to Ukrainian nation. Student is also very active in the civil life. He takes an active part at the student self-governance, previously hold position of the first vice head and later the head of the student union of TEF. He was repeatedly rewarded with certificates as an active participant of student life and success in studies. As the best student, he receives scholarship named after I. Kurchatov during this semester.
Since 2016 Bohdan is interested in physical nuclear safety, which is the main topic of his future Master’s thesis. This work is created on the basis of Institute of nuclear research of NAS of Ukraine. Bohdan participated at two international conferences "Insider Threats and Nuclear Security Culture PDC" and "Developing Educational Programme in Nuclear Security in Ukraine", dedicated to physical nuclear safety. He has completed the course of qualification upgrade at the topic “National system of record and control of nuclear materials”.
