On the results of the rating of teaching staff in the academic year 2015/2016

The meeting of Methodical council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was on October 27, 2016 at which results of rating of teaching staff of university in 2015/2016 academic year have been considered and approved.

Five years held the rating of teaching staff.

The purpose of introducing a rating system of evaluation of teaching staff are:

- stimulation of effective activities of teaching staff;

- to create a system of objective and comparative figures of results of teaching staff activities and open competitive environment;

- to create a mechanism of a fair distribution rates in the departments;

- providing a management of the objective information for making decision about continuance of contracts with teaching staff;

- providing criteria for the status of a research university and staffing requirements for carrying out educational activities.

2817 teaching staff participated in the ranking. The report analyzed the ranking lists of teaching staff, rating of teaching staff and departments were given.

At the end of the session Methodological Council decided as follows:

1. Take note of the analysis of ratings of teaching staff in 2015/16.
2. Educational Department:
   - to prepare and bring to the departments “analysis of ratings of teaching staff in the academic year 2015/16”;
   - to consider average rating indexes of departments on activities in case of determination of complex rating of divisions;
   - to prepare the draft of the order on the announcement of gratitude for high achievements in work to the best teaching staff according to rating.
3. Deputy Dean / directors of educational work to conduct methodological seminars with management departments with analysis of results ranking of teaching staff and adopt appropriate recommendations.
4. To offer academic councils of institutes / faculties to summerize proposals for improving the ranking systems of teaching staff and determine the general rating of departments and send on metod@kpi.ua to 17.11.2016.
5. Working Group of Methodological Council prepare recommendations for improving the ranking of teaching staff and determination of departments general rating to 2017/2018.
6. Recommend institute directors, deans of faculties, heads of departments to consider indexes rating of teaching staff in planning staffing for 2017/2018.
7. Head of departments:
   - to ensure the accuracy of the information entered in the AIS teaching staff, to organize checking of rating lists for discussion and approval at the meetings of departmens; pay special attention to the fulfillment of conditions for inclusion of textbooks, monographs to ranking lists and co-author;
   - to give to institute directors / deans of faculties and the educational and organizational management explanation of the ratings NPP - R / S <1000 (where R - Rating teacher; S - share bid of teaching staff) or part-Rn-i/S <100, and an action plan to removal these facts to 11.17.2016.
8. Deputy Director of institutions/ deans of faculties of educational work, graduating department head, curators academic groups to ensure the proper organization of student participation in the assessment of the quality of teaching in the 2016/17 academic year.
9. Educational Department and other departments in carrying out planned inspections departments on specific areas of activity to control implementation of this decision by Methodological council and conduct a selective control the reliability of information on rating lists of teaching staff.
