On September 29-30, 2016 in the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI after Igor Sikorsky" was the XV Ukrainian national scientific conference on the subject "Topical issues of science and technology history".
The conference was organized by the Center of monuments of NAS of Ukraine and Ukrainian society of protection of historical and cultural monuments, Institute of researches of scientific and technical potential and history of science after G. M. Dobrov of NAS of Ukraine, NTUU "Kiev Polytechnic Institute after Igor Sikorsky", the Academy of engineering sciences of Ukraine, Academy of the higher education of Ukraine, the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI after Igor Sikorsky" and the Association of employees of museums technical profile.
This year, on the conference were presented 97 reports from almost all regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Kramatorsk, Nikolaev, Zaporozhya, Poltava, Kherson, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi and others. Traditionally, the conference report were divided in three sections: "The study of science and education", "The development of technology in historical perspective", "The contribution to the science and technology of outstanding scientists and engineers."
The vice-rector for scientific work of NTUU "KPI after Igor Sikorsky" academician of NAN of Ukraine M.Yu.Ilchenko spoke at the beginning of the conference.
At a plenary session reports on a wide range of questions were heard: the methodology of science and technology history, a research ideas about historians scientific theories of science and technology, ideological prerequisites of modern evolutionary theory, the contribution of the academic science in solving the problems of the Chernobyl disaster, the history of National technical university "Kharkiv polytechnic institute" and history of forest matter in Ukraine. There were reports devoted to a contribution of the academician of AS of the USSR and AS of USSR N. N. Bogolyubov to development of the dynamic theory in statistical physics, to the first female academician of the Ukrainian academy of Sciences M. V. Pavlovy, to the founder of the highest technical school of Ukraine Victor Lvovich Kirpichev is a founder Kharkiv technological and Kiev polytechnic institutes. By the way, the author of the last report, the teacher of department of history of science and technology of NTU "HPI" S. A. Radoguz, has given the PDM at NTUU "KPI after Igor Sikorsky" some materials related to the activities V. L. Kirpichev.
Employees of the PDM at NTUU "KPI after Igor Sikorsky" held for participants an excursion to the museum and sights of the territory of our university, visiting the STB and tower of the main building.
To the conference issued a collection of reports theses which were sent to all the leading scientific libraries of Ukraine.
The conference "Topical Issues of Science and Technology history" started in 2001 at the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI". Through its holding of nothingness appear undeservedly forgotten names of scientists, inventors, engineers, there are scientific articles and monographs. The result of the conference was the creation of Association of employees of museums technical profile and initiate teaching the history of science and engineering as a separate discipline in leading higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine: NTU "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute", Dnipropetrovsk State University after Oles Gonchar, "KPI after Igor Sikorsky".
Conference materials are widely used by scientists working in the field of history of science and technology, specialists in museum management, graduate students and students of relevant specialties and all those interested in the historical and cultural heritage.
