Local Group International Student Organization ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) in Kyiv with the support of trade union KPI students for the second time held a local English-language stage of the tournament with solving business-cases "TIMES" (Tournament in Management and Engineering Skills).
Within five hours, the participants were able to feel older, quite independently professionals - to act as business analysts, marketers, economists leading real company. Each team had to solve the problem in a separate designated room without any help of modern gadgets or additional materials. Then they had to present their solutions in English before highly qualified jury. Animation, which normally helps to focus attention on something, was simulated by drawing directly while performing.
The jury this year included the assistant professor of industrial marketing FMM NTUU "KPI" T.V.Spivakovska, managers human resources (HR) world famous consulting companies "EY", "MAZARS" and Swedish entrepreneur who now lives and works in Ukraine and manages his own IT company.
All participants received certificates of participation in tournament and prizes, and the winners (students of the department of industrial marketing FMM Anastasia Vasilenko, Katharina Tsymbal and Darya Kravets) were additionally awarded thanks to our sponsor, the company "EY". Now our winners will be involved in the semi-finals in Serbia.
After the announcement of the results there was informal communication with the jury where the participants could get professional feedback on their performance and valuable advice for the future.
The members of the group ESTIEM in Kiev - FMM students Sergey Zelen'ko, Elizabeth Hryshenchuk and Elena Dovzhenko, IASA - Dimitar Yovchev, Catherine Kolomiets, Vladimir Obodov and Antonina Popova, FSL - Anna Mikhail took the most active part in the organization of the turnament.
The second stage of the competition will be held in February 2015, in which 9 teams from different countries (Spain, Serbia, Turkey, Lithuania, Germany) will come to NTUU “KPI”. We invite everyone to join the training, join our group of active students and enjoy life to the full, playing at the highest level.
