This year a postgraduate student of Metal Physics Department at FPE Igor Vladymyrskyi won the competition NAS Ukraine for obtaining prizes for young scientists and university students for the best scientific work. His work "Phase transformations, structure and properties of nanoscale thin film compositions Fe / Pt" (supervisor - prof. Y.M.Makohon) was the best and was awarded with the corresponding diploma.
Igor’s work devoted to the development of advanced nanoscale ferromagnetic material and its usage as magnetic media in hard disk drives will significantly increase the density and stability of magnetic recording media. The scientific value of the work is that the use of sophisticated methods for studying complex nanoscale materials has allowed the author to solve a number of materials tasks and develop practical recommendations for the formation of stable nanoscale film compositions based on FePt, the most promising material for ultra-dense magnetic recording. The results are presented in Igor’s 9 articles published in professional scientific journals, 4 of them in foreign journals with a high impact factor.
Being a postgraduate I.Vladymyrskyy repeatedly held internships and conducted researches in the world's best research centers working in the field of thin film materials science, at the Department of Physics of surfaces and boundaries of the University of Hemnitts (Germany) at the Department of Solid State Physics, University of Debrecen (Hungary) and the National Institute of Materials Science Aukuba (Japan).
He in advance prepared young scientist thesis "Thermally induced formation of the structure, phase composition and magnetic properties of nanoscale thin film compositions based on FePt"that is based on the results of his previous researches and was adopted to protection by the Specialized Scientific Council of G.V Kurdyumov Institute of Metal Physics NAS Ukraine.
We wish you, Igor, success and academic achievements!
