It is the second time when the Energy Efficiency Week-2013 takes place in the university, aiming to make a point of economical use of energy resources. During the week a series of events is organized to raise awareness of students on energy efficiency, involving students and employees, to the rational use of energy in general and the university in particular.
This year, the competition for the best "Energy Manager Corner" was included. Such corners with information on energy consumption in the university departments and rules of saving energy consumption have appeared in academic buildings and dormitories of the University in 2013. Support in the implementation of the event was given by German International Cooperation GIZ, which for the second time took part in the energy week in NTUU "KPI".
To participation in the contest for the best "Energy Manager Corner" were made booths, located in academic buildings № 4, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 22, 30, 31, 35 and hostel number 3. Responsible for filling and updating the stands were some students in the university buildings, they were esponsible for performing efficient energy use.
Evaluation of contestants was performed according to the following criteria: location of the required information, convenience of reading corner location, corner availability to add information, placing more information, improvement of stand: on its own or with the assistance of energy services, timely placement.
The best ones were "Energy Manager Corners" located in academic buildings № № 12 (responsible V. Shevchenko), 18 (responsible S.R Ig natyuk), 8 (responsible A.P Palahniuk), 30 (responsible Alyeksyeyenko I.M), 31 (responsible Gladskykh L.V). Contest winners were awarded with automatic tools for exterior doors (to be installed in academic buildings)and diplomas.
Once again, we want to thank German International Cooperation GIZ headed by Director Ms. Christiane Haheneder for support measures to promote energy conservation in NTUU "KPI", assistance in acquiring attributes and prizes for the winners, (T-shirts and bags with the logo of the efficiency Week, energy saving thermometers, guides for doors, duct tape for sealing windows, energy saving lamps).
We look forward to continue active participation of the university community in energy efficiency measures.
