In early March, the Department of the Ukrainian language, literature and culture has traditionally held a contest for reciters "Shevchenko reading." This year it was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko.
The contest was held in two stages. About 50 students were the participants in the first phase. To participate in the second jury selected 20 reciters.
Poems of Taras Shevchenko on the stage were read by both girls and boys. Romantic poems and patriotic poems were prevailed.
The jury assessed the participants on five criteria: knowledge by heart, artistic features, interpretation of the work, artistry and culture of speech.
The winners were:
• 1st place - Sergey Lyaschevskiy (FL, P-11) and Marina Buybarova (FICT, IO-31);
• 2nd place - Jaroslav Sergienko (FICT, IA-32), Sergei Gaydayenko (FICT, IA-32), and Tatiana Pocheptsova (FL, LA-11);
• 3rd place - Oksana Karnaukh (FHPE, the TA-31) and Pauline Zubarev (IASA, SC-01).
Anna Bech (IASA, SC-05) was winner as an author of the best a of poems dedicated to Taras Shevchenko;
By diploma of the best performance of songs on poems of Taras Shevchenko "My thoughts, my thoughts ..." was awarded Inna Bednarska (FHPE, CU-22).
Audience Choice Awards were given to Alexander Kovalchuk (FICT, SP-32); Dmitry Chasovskikh (IASA, SC-02); Mikhail Rudenko (FHPE, TV-32); Catherine Kochur (FICT, IR-33); Vladimir Andreyevich (FICT, IR-32); Daria Eagle (FICT, IR-32); Mark Kvitko (IASA, SC-02); Julia Popova (IASA, SC-05); Zahar Antoshenko (FHPE, TV-32); Mikhail Rudenko (FHPE, TV-32).
