In the summer of this year the NTUU "KPI" research library of professor G.I.Denisenko replenished at once with more than five hundred books. It is gift of the head editor of the "Kyiv Politekhnik" newspaper Vladimir Vasilyevich Yankovy. Among editions which are transferred to library, - multivolume collections and separate works of the Ukrainian, Russian, European and American classics of fiction and modern belletrists, poetic collections, historical works, religious studies, philosophy, economy, medicine and the monographs on sci-tech disciplines and etc. And not only Russian and Ukrainian, but also foreign languages. The list of books which students can use now, teachers and the staff of university, is a sharp evidence of catholicity of the donator. Vladimir V. collected the library many years, and among that its part which took now the place in catalogs and on shelves of NTV, is a lot of sufficient rare editions. They, certainly, will be useful both the researchers working in various areas of science, and those subscribers of university library who simply like to read.
To transfer the books to KPI library from own libraries is the tradition of teachers and employees who were founders of our university. Moreover, in the first years of our library existence its funds almost half consisted of the presented editions. Another first rector of KPI Victor Lvovich Kirpichev transferred the library own books in 1902 which are available to readers now. The books, presented by O.O.Radtsig, I.D.Zhukovim and others, remain carefully in NTL. Therefore V.V.Yankovy's gift is another link that in the year of 150 NTUU "KPI" connects his today's employees with their famous predecessors.
