April 18 the Olympics "KPI" competitions in sport swimming were in the pool at our university sports complex, teachers of the Department of Physical Education were organizers , headed by professor of swimming Volodymyr Nazaruk.
Competition program included several kinds of sports swimming at a distance of 50 meters: breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, crawl on back and relay races in which teams from different faculties took part. The relay races consisted of two heats: the free and combined styles.
Girls from Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information (MITI) and Institute for Energy Saving and Energy (IESE) started relay race and the. IESE won both swimming heats. There were more men's teams, Mechanical machine-building institute (MMI), Intercollegiate Faculty of Medical Engineering (IFME), VITI and IEE which competed for superiority. IME took first place in both heats, VITI were second, MMI got third in the freestyle, and IEE got third in combined style. Altogether, the competition did not take long time (there were only 30 heats), but it was spectacular.
The winners of the competition were:
Girls: Maria Semina (VITI) - freestyle, Catherine Pasych (FBT) - breaststroke, Victoria Amelyanets (TEF) - Butterfly, Victoria Klimenko (IEE) - crawl back.
Guys: Vitaly Biduha (VITI) - free style, Miroslav Miller (IFME) - breaststroke, Roman Benyuh (IEE) - Butterfly, Art ure (IFME) - crawl back.
Victoria Klimenko standed out because of swimming for 50 meters on the back with a record time of 39.05 seconds, and Artem Yra took the same distance with 28.8 seconds.
In the team competition team VITI won with 860 points. Second place went to IEE with 534 points. Third place was won by TEFF with 447 points. Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Yuri Vyhlyayev rewarded the winners (in pic.).
