Ukrainian student energy management academic competition took place at NTUU “KPI” at the premises of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management on 22-24 of April 2013 and there were represented 11 key Universities of Ukraine. Such competitions are of the great importance at present because they promote ideas of energy and nature resources saving, implementing of the alternative energy sources.
During 3 days of the competition there was the main competition round, contestants visited The National Polytechnic Museum of NTUU “KPI”, panel of judges chose winners in the team and individual competitions, the organizing committee summed up the results and awarded contestants with diplomas, presents from the sponsors.
The assignment consisted of 2 theoretical questions and 3 practical tasks, concerning problems of electrical technology, heat-power engineering and energy management. The high level of student’s training, the ability to solve energy saving tasks in electrical technology and heat-power engineering, heat transmission and energy consumption were indicated during the contest.

Tyshkovets, NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF WATER MANAGEMENT AND NATURE RESOURCES USE, Rivne (3rd place). Winners in the team competition: NTUU “KPI” 1st place; NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF WATER MANAGEMENT AND NATURE RESOURCES USE, Rivne 2nd place; Sumy State University 3rd place. The organizing committee of the academic competition renders thanks to the administration and head professors of the universities, who brought through talented youth, capable of solving complicated tasks and implementing ideas of energy management and energy saving in the future.
And as well we render special thanks to the sponsors of the academic competition: companies “Mitsubisi Electric”, “WILO”, International Kyiv Energy Club, German community of international Cooperation GIZ, State agency of energy efficiency and energy saving, who prepared gifts to the students and professors.
Christiana Hageneder, the chief of the pilot project “ Energy-efficient building”, addressed a closure admitting that setting up such academic competition profits the increase or the energy management professionals training and stimulate the youth to think creatively. Also the participants were greeted by: acting director of the Energy Saving and Energy Management Institute assistant professor V.V. Prokopenko, headmaster of the Kyiv Centre of the Energy managers training assistant professor E.M. Inshekov, head of the Department of Power Supply ESEMI professor S. P. Denysyuk, headr of the Department of Electromechanical Energy-Intensive Equipment ESEMI professor V.I. Deshko and professor of the DEEIE ESEMI S.M. Konstantinov, the founder of the specialization “Energy Management” and the author of the key manuals in technical thermodynamics.
The organizing committee renders thanks to the staff of the IEE: assistant professor V.O. Vynogradov-Saltykov, assistant professor T.O. Rynkova, supervisor of the laboratory L.G. Gazhivskyi and others for the active participation in preparation and running the academic competition. NTUU “KPI” will again hold the IX Ukrainian Energy Management Academic Competition.
