Range of methodical seminars took place at the Intercollegiate Institute of Medical Engineering (IIME) Department in January with participation of professors, students and guests from other departments. The methodological seminar “Modern technologies and breathing exercises usage in the course of the “Physical education for students of higher institutions” took place on the 9th of January, 16th of January – “New directions of the scientific developments in physical education”; 23th of January – “The flexibility training, posture formation with the means of the chosen kind of sports and physical exercises with the usage of gravity boots”.
The last seminar was the most interesting and spectacular. The professor of the Physical Education Department Oleksandr Evhenovych Salamakha (the international taekwondo instructor, the Black Belt, dan IV) together with the aerobics professor Anna Yuriivna Chekhovska represented some exercises using the gravity boots of the American company “Teeter Hang Ups” – the leading company in the branch of the inverse therapy (see the picture).
The gravity boots usage gives an opportunity to hang up head first and train the muscles without any loading on joints and the spine. Such trainings help to cure the scoliotic posture, scoliosis and other spine problems (in case you begin to cure them from the early age). As a result the compression on the interchondral disk, vasospasm, musclues spasm go off, the disk trophism improves, the blood circulation normalizes, pain syndromes disappear. Such exercises could be made by one self or with a partner. The general state improves from the first training, joints pain lessens. Gravity boots exercises – a good prevention of the cardiovascular system (stroke, varix dilatation). Gravity boots can be used in many ways: they are used in the military armies of the USA, by sportsmen and for preventing diseases of the locomotorium in the recreation centers.
O. E. Salamakha has been using the gravity boots in his trainings for 2 years. From his experience he offered to use them during physical education trainings for students and for keeping the appropriate physical state of the professor. The research laboratory of the department plans to conduct the scientific research of the influence of this methodology on human’s body.
