On the 18th June, by representatives of the Tokyo University of Agriculture Technology (Japan) attended NTU "KPI" - Professor Masao Nagai and Associate Professor Ponhsatorn Raksincharonsak. They visited the Science and Technical Library and Ukraine-Japan Center of NTU "KPI", made a tour along the alley of monuments to famous scientists and designers whose creative activity began in KPI or was connected with it and familiarized themselves with the State Polytechnic Museum at NTU "KPI". After a general acquaintance with University guests met with his leadership and discuss trends and ways to expand cooperation.
The meeting was attended by First Vice Rector of NTU KPI Yuriy Yakymenko, Vice Rector of National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Executive Manager of International Relations Division, Corresponding Member of NAS of Ukraine Sergey Sidorenko, Deputy Chief of International Relations Division Sergei Shukayev, director of the Ukraine-Japan Center of NTU" KPI "Midzutani Osama and his deputy, Eugene Ogorodnik, and representatives of Mechanical Engineering Institute of NTU "KPI".
Since cooperation between NTU "KPI" and Tokyo University of Agriculture Technology began few years ago (for example, its experts have participated in the preparation of printed materials of technology transfer, creation of business incubators and other collaborative projects), there was discussion about the expansion of cooperation. Among its possible directions are "green" energy, technical mechanic and engineering, laser technology, sustainable development and so on. And, of course, the commercialization of scientific research with the participation of "Kyiv Polytechnic" Science Park.
Taking into account the scientific specialization of guests - in their university they are engaged in theoretical and applied engineering problems, they were especially interested in potential collaboration with the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of NTU "KPI". So at the end of the meeting they visited the laboratory of the Institute and visited the office, where in the first decades of the twentieth century worked outstanding mechanic, famous expert in strength of materials and theory of elasticity and vibration Stepan Timoshenko, and finally photographed next to his monument installed in front of the historic Academic building number 1.
