April 25, 2013 at National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" XI-th International Youth Scientific and Practical Conference "History of Science, Technology and Education" on the topic "Building a research university" was held. It was carried out in the framework of the International Youth Symposium on history of science and technology "Priorities of Ukrainian Science."
The conference was organized by National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of NTUU "KPI", National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and History of Science, named after H.M. Dobrova of NAS Ukraine, the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI", Scientific and Technical Library after H.P. Denysenka NTUU "KPI". The conference was visited by
research fellows, students and postgraduates of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and other faculties and institutes of NTUU "KPI", by the representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and History of Science after H.M. Dobrova of NAS Ukraine, by the employers of the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI".
The conference began with plenary session, which was opened by Vice-rector for scientific work of "KPI", a member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Ilchenko and was organized in three sections: "The role of a personality in science. The phenomenon of Scientific and Scientific and Technical schools", "History of natural and technical sciences in Ukraine and abroad. Physics and the modern technological world", "The development of education in Ukraine and abroad. Methodology of teaching physical and mathematical sciences". In total more than 125 topics of thesis were submitted for consideration by the Organizing Committee.
The events contained in the program of the second day of International Youth Symposium "History of Science and Technology" Priorities of Ukrainian science" will take place on April 26 at the Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and History of Science, named after H.M. Dobrova of NAS Ukraine.
