On May, 30 the world saw another academic ranking of universities of Ukraine with III, IV accreditation levels "TOP-200 UKRAINE» 2014.
National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University shared the first place.
Decision of the project team "TOP_200 Ukraine" that the first place must be given at the same time to two leading Ukrainian universities was adopted in view of the fact that they have very similar values of integral parameters (Iz) and are significantly detached from a group of other universities.
This is the eighth edition of the ranking. Its technique is built according to international principles for ranking universities, which provides a comparative analysis of the achievements of universities of different types based on a number of universal criteria. In method used the activities of universities are evaluated using an aggregated metric (integral index), which is formed on the basis of indicators of direct measurement (80%), expert evaluation of quality of universities graduates by employers and academic community (15%), and using international and scientometric web metric data (5%). The cumulative index is represented by three components: quality of scientific and educational potential, quality of education, international recognition.
