One of the effective means of specialist training is holding work experience internship and pre-graduation internship to students in the institutes of the NASU. The practice is managed by Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences V.I. Dubinets. During the practice students are actively involved in research and in the creation of new measurement tools. Many of these developments are reflected in students coursework, bachelor and diploma specialist projects, thesis works of master; the creation of new laboratory researches.
The results of the scientific researches of faculty of the Department are published in the periodical journals of NASU "Applied mechanics", "Problems of strength", "Applied Geophysics", "Electronic modeling", "Quantum electronics”; Engineering Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and in other professional journals HAC. In addition to magazines, scientific works of employees of the Department are published in the form of thesis in materials of scientific conferences, which are held by NASU, NTUU "KPI" (including National Scientific Conference of Students "Instrumentation engineering"), and other universities of Ukraine.
Teachers, postgraduates and doctoral students of the Department carry out researches in the field of "Instrumentation engineering" in the category "Precision automated tools and methods of measurement of mechanical quantities". Postgraduate student S.S. Tkachenko in 2010 received 4 patents.
Dozens of years on the Department work effectively pre-University training courses under the guidance of a gifted teacher Ph. D., Assoc. A. V. Andreeva. She brought some features in this work: during the Open Doors Days of the Department applicants have opportunities to communicate with experienced teachers, postgraduates and doctoral students of the Department during excursion. Firsthand applicants learn about the directions of scientific research, the development prospects of selected specialties.
Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences I.A. Grishanova controls the direction of the employment of students of the Department. I.A.Grishanova is creative and talented person, she has brought to this work the elements of creativity and the scientific organization of labor. D. A. K. Nikitin, together with Assoc., Ph. D. I. V. Korobko and head lecturer .M.Zaytsev. Their works formed the basis of the scientific achievements of Ukraine in the development and improvement of the space shuttle "Buran" and other equally important objects of industry and defense complex of Ukraine.
With efforts of Assoc., Ph. D. I. V. Korobko, postgraduates and students was created a research center "PRISE". The direction of fundamental and applied research of the center – devices and systems for energy saving. The center cooperates with companies in the corresponding direction.
All scientific researches in the field of measurement of mechanical quantities use algorithmic methods in devices and systems. Thorough knowledge and own experience in this area gives students and graduate students Assoc., Ph. D., L. P. Zhurovska.
Organization, accounting, analysis of the results of scientific work carried out by the famous specialist in the field of devices and instrumentation systems, medical devices Assoc., Ph. D. I.H. Matyash.
The work of the scientific (or anyone else) direction for the Department based on the professional knowledge, skills and technical support of staff of the Department: heads of laboratories V.I. Kornienko (the true host, who is requested and received assistance colleagues from across the Institute), T. I. Shaldi (good keeper of faculty) ,T. A. Tolochko (computer guru of the Department), accountant O. M. Trostanova (beautiful, experienced specialist), financially responsible T.M. Gotenco (open, always smiling), excellent engineers O.
