On February 8, on the occasion of an honorary doctorate diplomas VPI NTU "KPI" director and procurator of "KBA-Planeta AG" in the former socialist countries Dr. Peter Yarhstorfu was taking place meeting of the Academic Council VPI NTU "KPI". The meeting was opened by the director of EPI prof. P.O.Kyrychok. He spoke about the life and work of Dr. P.Yarhstorfa and thanked him for his significant contribution to training highly qualified specialists for the publishing and printing industry, and strengthening links between universities around the world.
P.Yarhstorf was born on September 4th, 1940 in Yuterborzi (Germany). In 1966 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. In preparation of the thesis research worked as an assistant of the Institute. In 1969 he received his doctorate engineer. In 1970-1979, he worked as an engineer-researcher, head of quality sheet, chief clerk of processing, technical director at steel plant in Eisenhüttenstadt. From 1980 till 1983, he worked as procurement director at the factory that produces medicines in Dresden, and from 1987 till 1989 - Technical Director of the company. From 1990 till 1991, was a board member for personnel, legal and social issues of "KBA-Planeta AG". Since 1991 P.Yarhstorf held rank as chief sales officer and procurator of "KBA-Planeta AG" in the former socialist countries. P.Yarhstorf played a significant role in closer cooperation VPI with "KBA-Planeta AG", in particular in the promotion of the development of material and technical base of the institute.
After diploma delivery ceremony, medal and gown, Dr. P.Yarhstorf was given the floor of honor as a doctor VPI. In his report he described the major milestones in the history, current state and prospects of development of publishing and printing industry and the global industrial activity of one of the world's leading manufacturers of printing machines - the company "KBA-Planeta AG". Dr. Yarhstorf also paid attention to the rapid development of Ukrainian printing.
