Our university continues to multiply its achievements in humanitarian demining and mine safety. We are not resting on our laurels and are engaging new partners. Now among them is the NGO Ukrainian Association of Humanitarian Demining, which brings together a wide range of mine action operators, manufacturers and other organizations involved in this field.

“On the basis of the specialty 183 (G2) Environmental Protection Technologies, we have already launched the training of bachelors and masters - new generation engineers who will restore Ukrainian lands with basic knowledge of mine action. We also plan to open a qualification center. It is very important for us to involve the Association and its partners in various tasks and joint projects,” said Oksana Vovk, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ER IEE) at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

“We unite almost the entire market in the field of humanitarian demining. All partners are active members of the association and are ready to advise, test or supplement your training with the necessary base, if necessary,” said Oleksandr Bortnikov, director of the Ukrainian Association of Humanitarian Demining.

A number of important initiatives in the field of humanitarian demining are planned under the joint memorandum, including

- new fundamental and applied research;
- development, testing and evaluation of mine action equipment;
- organization of competitions and festivals to promote innovative technologies;
- development of professional development programs;
- joint information, scientific and educational events, seminars, trainings, workshops for students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

In addition, there are plans to implement projects to restore the victims of mine action, which will involve the Sikorsky Challenge Science Park of Additive Technologies and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute's Training and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation.
