An essential component of educational and research activities is the search, selection, and evaluation of information.  This work takes a lot of time, especially evaluating the information found because the Internet places both reliable, relevant, and high-quality information content. At the same time, it often offers unscrupulous and pseudo-scientific materials.  Authoritative international information resources offer you peer-reviewed and quality information content. Thus, you save time to perform other stages of the study.

Since 2021 our University has enjoyed access to the full texts of e-books in the ScienceDirect database of the international credible publishing house Elsevier.  The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine budgeted the University with the annual subscription of these significant information resources.  About 39,000 scientific publications (electronic monographs, book series, reference books, textbooks, etc.) from various fields of knowledge are now available to all our teachers, scientists, and students.  You can access full texts of publications in the local network of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the link https://www.sciencedirect.com. Besides, the ScienceDirect database allows remote access. By using the textbook abstract, you can order electronic delivery of full texts of the necessary books to G. I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.  To order, fill out a short electronic form at https://cutt.ly/qjvXpaq.

Our University researchers also have access to more than 9,000 e-books from Springer Nature for 2017 and other materials in the public domain.  Springer Nature is a world-class publishing house that publishes high-quality scientific, educational and professional literature in science, technology, and medicine. Remote access to full texts is possible through the electronic delivery of documents. So orders can be made via the electronic form at the same link as for ordering ScienceDirect e-books.

Scopus and Web of Science are interdisciplinary bibliographic online databases. See if you can search for scientific information, select publications on the desired topic, find partners for joint projects, or grant research support.  We are glad to remind you that these databases can provide you with remote access to work at home from your accounts.  An account in the Web of Science database needs registration in the University's local network using a corporate or personal e-mail address. To access Scopus remotely, apply to the Department of Information Support of Education and Research of G. I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. Follow the link https://cutt.ly/1jvB4aF, or send an e-mail to the department science@library.kpi.ua. The subject of the letter is remote access to Scopus. Remember to indicate the e-mail address in the text to set up access.  An online one-on-one consultation or webinar for a group of researchers (via the Zoom service) is a great option to search for information using international databases at https://cutt.ly/vjvNHWn.

The department can also consult on the use of digital tools at different stages of the research cycle, selection of publications on research topics, evaluation of publications for publication, updating the researcher profile in the Scopus databases, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and international ORCID, citations and references in scientific works by Ukrainian and international standards, etc. Tel .: (044) 204-96-72, e-mail: science@library.kpi.ua.
