Electronic Campus as a component of the single information environment of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was launched in 2012. Its task is to sustain the educational process.
Indeed, Electronic Campus is an aggregator from various databases. Data are not entered directly into Electronic Campus, but they are imported into it from other automated systems of the university. Data about workers are imported from the automated system Human Resources. Data about students are imported from the automated system Dean’s Office. Data about different disciplines are imported from the automated system Planning of the educational process. Accordingly, data that are not entered into these systems cannot be displayed in the Electronic Campus, and data that are entered incorrectly can lead to serious problems when combining in Electronic Campus.
The users of Electronic Campus are students, teachers, workers of dean’s offices of faculties and institutes, workers of administrative departments. From time to time they turn to the Design Bureau of Information Systems and the university administration with questions and comments on the work of Electronic Campus. Mostly these questions occur because of poor user awareness about the functioning principles of Electronic Campus, its aims and objectives.
