On May 30, 2017 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by coordinator of "Eurasia" program in the Norwegian Center of International Education and Cooperation in the Field of Education - Bord Hekland (pictured on the left). The reason for his visit was the victory in the competition of the Norwegian Center of Projects from the FMF and IEE. The guest met with the pro-rector of the university, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Yurii Yakymenko and told about some procedural issues of the competition and further actions of both parties on the implementation of the winning projects.

The joint activities will be implemented within the project "Norwegian-Ukrainian cooperation on education based on research in the sphere of innovative, sustainable and energy-efficient systems". This project is the development of long-term cooperation between institutions, which began in 2010. The director of the IEE professor Serhii Denysiuk, project coordinator, associate professor Halyna Strelkova and others took part in the negotiations with Mr. Hekland. During the meetings at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics they were discussing the organization of the joint courses, planned within the project "Norwegian-Ukrainian Cooperation in mathematical education", involving specialists of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory and colleagues from the University of Oslo, joint summer schools for students, the development of new online courses. Bord Hekland has shown interest in attraction of Ukrainian specialists to the preparation of Norwegian students and students for international mathematical contests. By the way, in 2020, such contest will be held in the capital of Norway, Oslo.
