On 17th February, 2017 embassy delegation of China in Ukraine in the face of China First Embassy Secretary of in Ukraine Zhang Wei and China First Embassy Secretary in Ukraine Tszinho Wang, who is curator of China and Ukraine cooperation in science and education have visited Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute.
There were present from university: S.I. Sydorenko - Vice Rector for research and educational work (international relations); O.V. Koval – Vice rector for scientific work; V.O. Koval - director of CIE; O.V. Zbrutsky - FAS Dean; K.V. Yudkova – deputy of ICD; A.P. Shisholin - head of foreign activity department.
The meeting was devoted to discussion of general issues of further cooperation and planning preparations for a visit of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary China Ambassador in Ukraine Mr. Du Wei to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute.
There were discussed some issues:
- Establishment of the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute;
- Expansion of cooperation with leading Chinese companies;
- Expansion of cooperation with educational institutions - search partner universities and the creation of Ukrainian-Chinese Center;
- information about cooperation with the Huizhou, Shaoguan, Chzhetsyan, Dalian, Tsindao, Guangzhou;
- enrollment PRC citizens to study at KPI: Bachelor, Master, PhD;
- attracting Chinese investors and sponsors to Sikorsky Challenge festival.
Vice Rector S.I. Sidorenko has told about the basic principles and approaches to cooperation at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute with a foreign partner to present the university as a potential partner in cooperation with Chinese companies and educational institutions. Director of CIE V.O. Koval emphasized the mechanisms and possible forms of cooperation in his report.
For their part, China Embassy representatives in Ukraine emphasized on providing maximum support for university in the implementation of the planned project of the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute and other promising projects Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation. An important step for the further development should be possible visit of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary China Ambassador in Ukraine Mr. Du Wei to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute.
Thus, the meeting was held at a high level and had a significant positive effect on the further development of international cooperation Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute in the Chinese direction in education, science and innovation.
