The exhibition "Arms and Security 2016"

October 11-14, 2016 in the International Exhibition Center was XIII International Specialized Exhibition named "Arms and Security - 2016". The opening of an exhibition was attended by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Head of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko, Minister of National Defence in Romania Mikhno Motoc and other honorable guests.

The exhibition "Arms and Security" was a demonstration of the power and potential opportunities for National Defense in Ukraine and a kind of tool for spreading world-class products on the domestic market, increasing the export potential of the domestic defense industry as well as a platform for the defense industry as the real economy.

Exhibits were demonstrating the achievements of enterprises and the development of higher education in Ukraine, examples of new technologies and military designs for various defense and security spheres and the best achievements of science and technology in this field which are necessary for innovative development, defense and economy in Ukraine.

Exhibition guests were exceedingly interested in the exposition of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute after Igor Sikorsky" which performed such scientific research results as the university nanosatellite (Boris Rassamakin, Heat-and-Power Engineering Department), portable water purification system “SOVA” (Taras Nyzhnyk, CTD), composite armor and technology for products made from reinforced ceramic composites for tribotechnical and instrument-mental purpose created by scientists from EPD (a group of researchers led by Petro Loboda who is EPD Dean who and a corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine), mobile remotely controlled complex based on machine robot for handling dangerous objects in the field (head of IME department Vasil Strutinsky), military secondary voltage pattern in the voltage range from 0.1 V to 1000 V AC frequency range from 10 Hz to 30 MHz (Julian Tuz and Maryna Dobrolyubova, FAS), powder filler, manufactured by centrifugal sprayer, turbine engine blade with corrected defects without protective cover, electro-hydraulic valve blank for aircraft (Victor Kvasnizky, WF). The exhibition caused a list of proposals for experience exchange and commercial relations establishment. General discussion panel was held in the International Exhibition Centre as part of information and communication event "Science: security and development of military-industrial complex" conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Here representatives of all leading technical universities were discussing perspective directions of technological development and military equipment, instruments of state support for defense enterprises in Ukraine, implementation of new technologies in various defense and security fields. In particular, Pro-rector of Research academician Mikhail Ilchenko gave a speech about innovation and Production Association "Kyiv Polytechnic" in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

Based on the feed-back from event the recommendations of the Government related to developing and increasing the scientific, technical and technological potential in the defense industry of Ukraine were approved and an electronic collection of articles was released as well.
