10-11 September 2016 at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Poly-Technical Institute by Igor Sikorsky" held the lecture "Introduction to Data Science, Business Analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence" by Olexander Romanko. The course was organised at the seventh time, but it's the first time, when more than 800 participants from all over Ukraine were gathered in the same hall. Before that it held in three cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa, online version was seen by over than 2000 users.
Such profesions like analyst and data scientist are in great demand among companies and government agencies in recent years. But Harvard Business Review presume this jobs are "The Sexiest Job of the 21st Century" and the highest paid profession in 2010, which let to the increase interest of young people.
The Course Lector - Olexander Romanenko, who works like a senior researcher in the IBM company, Canada, and who is a professor of residence in the University in Toronto, Canada, was invanted to the lecture. Olexander received his doctorale and master's degrees in Computer Science at McMaster University (Canada), master's degree in economics at Charles University (Czech Republic) and Diploma of Sumy State University. Olexander works in the field of risk analytics, business intelligence, financial risk management and information technology. He has published more than 20 articles in international scientific journals and co-authored of several books. Olexander cooperates with universities and companies of Ukraine, he is the founder of the Cluster of Information Technologies of Sumy, takes a part of volunteer activities in the Ukrainian organizations in Canada.
Lecture's Participants had the opportunity to be first who known about responsebilities to have trainings and internships in Ukrainian companies and organizations through discussion "Perspectives of analysts in the companies." A presentation dedicated to startups in the field of data science wae held.
Ruslana Shadrina (the co-founder of a startup Myhelix) described the new level of development of medicine, when there is opportunity to treat, based on information about the genome of each person - personalized medicine. Myhelix - is ukrainian startup that provides customized recommendations with analyzing genetic data.
Vladimir Bryskin and Olga Chyhiro told about CourseYard startup, which develops an instrument to improve learning. It aims to bring efficiency electronic form to the full-time through personalized recommendations for user based on data.
Course included task by the project "Eye", which was formed by the NGO "Razom for Ukraine" (USA) and GO "Image Agency of Ukraine" (Kyiv) for monitoring Ukraine's image in world media. The finalists were the team of Denis Lazarenko and Volodymyr Lunda and individual participants - Tatyana Kudryavtseva and Olexander Romanov. It was Olexander Romanov, the project presentation of whom was won in the results.
It should be noted, that every year takes into account the wishes of the participants of previous courses, more attention is paid on practical application of business intelligence. A community of more than a thousand people are shaped, they share their experiences and ideas, look for there employees and employers. Thanks to Olexander Romanko for contribution to development of Ukrainian education and motivation of the Ukrainian youth to develop in the direction of intelligence data.
