The balance of 10th national contest "Professionals of the Future 2016", organized by the telephone service provider Vodafone, has been recently struck. According to records of organizers, over the past 10 years more than 2,700 students participated in the competition. In the context of competition more than 100 research were developed projects and over 5 million UAH of scholarships and rewards for participants were paid .
So this year 11 teams of leading higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine submitted their projects with the introduction of new services using 3G-technology to the contest. Within three months, teams were developing a "technical solution for implementing new services using broadband data transmission technology" and competing for the main prize of the competition - 125 000 UAH.
The winner of the 10th contest of scientific works "Professionals of the Future 2016" became the team of O.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications. They presented the project named "Virtual Phone" and services on its base - the application "Cloud" i "Spamfilter SMS". The team won the grant in amount of 125 000 UAH. The second place was taken by the team of Lviv Polytechnic National University with the project"Improvement of architecture and planning radio access network". The third place took the team of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronocs with the project "Smart House". For the second and third place winners received valuable gifts - tablets and smartphones.
A number of teams became winners in several categories. The team of the Institute of Telecommunication Systems of the National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI" won in the nomination "For practical significance and speed of implementation." The team, which consisted of five seniors-students of ITS: Anastasia Krivosheina, Anna Lyashchuk, Andriy Kybenko, Olexander Lytvyn and Eugene Semendyak, took part in the competition on "Technical solutions for introduction of new services using broadband data transmission technology". Mentor of the team - Associate Professor of Telecommunications, Ph.D., Leading Researcher D.A. Minochkin. The team presented a project on "The use of OpenStack for transfering existing infrastructure of telephone service provider", including telecommunications equipment virtualization on the cloud platform. This development may increase the efficiency of the telephone service provider and reduce time of implementation of new services and carry out such services as cloud storage, data processing centre rent, use of licensed software and cloud services, virtual office, Backup as a Service, online video processing.
