Aerobics (rhythmic gymnastics) is a complex exercise (walking, running, jumping, etc.), which is performed under the music. It is one of the most popular types of recreational physical culture. Usually there are attended aerobics classes in order to lose weight, improve the figure. But the real task of aerobics is different - the development of endurance, strength, coordination, flexibility. Weight loss and beautiful figure is only a result of the general strengthening of the body, tuning it to a healthy one.
There are more than 200 systems aerobics. Trends in aerobics differ by:
- age (aerobics for children, adolescents, adults);
- levels of knowledge involved (for beginners, the program for improvement, for the representatives of different sports, etc.);
- the use of different tools, for example, step platforms;
- using a variety of objects: balls, skipping ropes (short and long) and others.

Aerobics classic (basic) - synthesis of gymnastic exercises for the overall development, running, jumping, jumps performed with musical accompaniment 120-160 beats per minute. The main physiological direction is the development of endurance, strengthen the heart and lungs.
Step aerobics - kind of aerobics, which uses a special step platform. The platform allows the use of various steps, jumps on it and through it in different directions, it can be used to perform the exercises for the abdominals, back, and the like. You can adjust the height of the platform and thus change exercise, going up and down the platform to equate the intensity of running at a speed of 12 km / h.
Dance kinds of aerobics - funk aerobics, hip-hop aerobics, latin-jazz aerobics.
In dance aerobics, various dance moves to the music corresponding to a particular dance. Dance aerobics strengthens the muscles, especially the lower part of the body, stimulates the cardiovascular system, improves coordination and posture, get rid of excess weight.
Resist-A-Ball aerobics.
This aerobics using mainly special big rubber balls. Sitting on the ball, or leaning on a different part of the body, as well as drawing the ball against the wall, you can endlessly change the original position and perform a large number of exercises that act on different muscle groups. Resist-A-Ball aerobics strengthens the heart, improves blood flow to all organs of the body, normalizes blood pressure; improves lung function, increases the depth of breathing; improves the mobility of the vertebrae, provides active muscles of the back, shoulders, chest, neck, abdomen, arms and legs; unlocks the limb joints, normalize their functioning, removes pain in the joints, develops balance function simultaneously with the development of strength and flexibility.
Aerobics with the rope consists of natural movements - jumps, acrobatic elements, which are carried out individually, in pairs or groups. This kind of aerobics has a positive effect on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, develops coordination, overall agility, speed.
Strength oriented aerobics- this kind of aerobics widely use dumbbells, rubber shock absorbers, expanders, gymnastic sticks. Destinations of this kind - the development of power features.
