🇺🇦 Ukrainian school students from Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Mariupol, and the Poltava region represented Ukraine at the International Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Sydney. They know war not from textbooks, but from missile strikes and air raid sirens.
Before the Olympiad began, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, called on the organizers not to admit the official Russian delegation. The appeal was ignored—even though the competition focused on strategically important areas such as AI model attacks and defenses, prompt injection, red teaming, and deepfake detection. This came despite Australia's repeated recognition of Russia as a state responsible for cybercrime activities.
"This has never been about nationality. It has always been about values, responsibility, and respect for human dignity. International education cannot be separated from these principles," said the Vice-Rector for International Relations of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, expressing gratitude to Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko and the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia for their exceptional support and care for the Ukrainian delegation in Sydney.
