A regular meeting of the Academic Council of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took place on June 30, 2020. It was held remotely - in Zoom-conference mode. The meeting was chaired by its chairman M.Yu. Ilchenko.
According to the reports of the first vice-rector Y.I. Yakymenko, the Academic Council considered the following issues: "On improving the management system of the university", "On preparation for the new academic year", "On structural changes of university departments" and made the appropriate decisions.
In particular, on the first issue, the Academic Council decided to introduce into the university management system key performance indicators (KPI) to assess the performance of departments and their leaders, and approved the Regulations on determining funds for salaries of research and teaching staff of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute n the basis of indicators of their educational, scientific and international activities ("formula" funding) and decided to implement it from September 1, 2020.
On the issue of preparation for the new academic year, the Academic Council approved changes to the Rules of Admission to the National Technical University of Ukraine " Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" in 2020, and instructed deans / directors of institutes on the work of selection committees considering quarantine restrictions.
The Academic Council adopted a number of decisions on structural changes of university departments, in particular on the establishment of a single unit on the basis of the Department of Informatization of Management, Design Bureau of Information Systems and Information and Computing Centre for the educational process - Design Bureau of Information Systems; on the establishment of the Personnel Training Centre of the International Institute of Welding on the basis of the Department of Welding Production and the Department of Smart Technologies of Joints and Surface Engineering of the Paton Institute of Materials Science and Welding ; about creation of the Educational and scientific improving complex "Health of KPI” within the FBMI , and as a part of the Department of Educational Work - the Educational and scientific centre "Noosphere Engineering School KPI".
In addition, the Academic Council decided to change the organizational structure of the Department of Quality of the educational process, the Department of Educational Work, the Institute for Monitoring the Quality of Education, and approved the organizational structure of Paton Institute of Materials Science and Welding.and NMC "Institute of Postgraduate Education".
According to the report of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs A.A. Melnychenko, the Academic Council approved Regulations on the organization of the educational process in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.and provisions, which are its components.
Also, according to the report of Vice-Rector A.A. Melnychenko, the Academic Council approved a number of bachelor's and master's educational programs, curricula, which will be the basis of admission to higher education in 2020, as well as approved the schedule of the educational process for 2020/2021 academic year.
According to the report of the Director of the Department of Quality of the Educational Process O.A. Zhuchenko, the Academic Council considered the results of accreditation of educational programs of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the 2019/2020 academic year. The Academic Council approved the work of general university units involved in the accreditation process, and faculties / institutes and departments whose educational programs were accredited by NAQA, and decided to award diplomas of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute employees who ensured successful accreditation of educational programs and instructed a number of structural units how to accredit their educational programs.
Next, the Academic Council considered current cases, including approval of the results of attestation of researchers, awarding scholarships to students, creation of specialized scientific councils to defend dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, granting the right of scientific guidance to graduate students and applicants, admission to doctoral studies in 2020, recommendations for printing monographs, etc.
The Academic Council also approved the results of the competition for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute awards for the best textbooks, manuals, monographs in 2020.
