January 28, 2019, representatives of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute department for the security together with the police in Kyiv arrested a man who systematically committed thefts in university buildings in the last two months.
He was a citizen N. born in 1984.
Identification of his personality was possible thanks to modern information technologies of the IT department and video surveillance of the security department. After that, the department together with the police officers developed an action plan for the quick arrest of the offender.
During the detention, it was established that the suspect had previously been convicted twice. He had an arsenal of tools for illegal access to the university premises. Penetrating into the room, the burglar stole money, documents, bank cards, keys and belongings of students and teachers. He was involved in the five thefts in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute buildings. The verification of the involvement of this citizen in the commission of other thefts continues.
There is initiated criminal suit under p.3 of clause.185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft). A maximum penalty is an imprisonment for up to 6 years.
