To the winners of the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Mathematics Olympiad: Petro Trotsenko (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics) and Yevhen Shiff (Faculty of Theoretical Physics and Informatics) were awarded the Professor Buldigin Prize.

By decision of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Denis Oleksandrovych Logvinov, a second-year master’s student in the “Insurance and Financial Mathematics” program, was awarded the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Prize for the best student research paper for his work “Some Properties in a Stochastic Model with an Alpha-Scheme and Trend.”

🇯🇵 🇺🇦 The Ukrainian-Japanese Center at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the qualifying round of the 2026 Japanese Ambassador’s Cup Open Shogi Tournament—an ancient Japanese intellectual game that combines logic, strategic thinking, and philosophy.

In late fall, the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the First Scientific and Practical Conference of FMF Master’s Students, dedicated to the results of thesis research conducted by master’s degree candidates.

The Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (FMF) of our university now has a modern laboratory with 17 high-tech workstations, which will serve as a basis for integrating innovative artificial intelligence methods into the educational space, as well as into fundamental and applied scientific research in physics and mathematics on the way to creating new technologies.

September 29, 2025 marked the 70th birthday of Oleg Ivanovich Klesov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory. 

In June 2025, a delegation from Igor Sikorsky KPI, consisting of professors from the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory, O.I. Klesov, I.V. Alekseeva, O.I. Vasilik, and V.V. Bovsunovskaya, visited Mälardalen University (Västerås, Sweden). The visit took place within the framework of the EU's Erasmus+ program (KA1).

The development strategy of Igor Sikorsky KPI provides for increasing the level of academic mobility of students and teachers through international exchange programs, summer schools, internships, etc. This is one of the university's priority areas of activity aimed at deepening the internationalization and integration of participants in the educational process into the international educational and scientific space, improving the quality of education and the effectiveness of scientific research, as well as ensuring competitiveness in the educational services market. 

The legend of Ukrainian mathematics and a woman who became one of the symbols of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit, Nina Opanasivna Virchenko, turned 95 on May 5.
