The Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering (FICE) of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, together with product IT company OBRIO and Genesis, is launching a series of educational initiatives. Several joint projects will start this autumn, including engaging industry experts in teaching a product analytics course, a student scholarship program, grants for academic staff, and regular Case Clubs.

“Ukrainian IT business has developed to a significant extent thanks to the high-quality fundamental education provided by our universities. Therefore, business has a responsibility to give back by investing in education and in the development of the next generation of specialists.

That is why, together with FICE, we are launching a partnership that will provide students with highly practical knowledge and help them adapt as quickly as possible to the needs of today’s product IT industry.

We want students to have a strong start to their careers, grow rapidly as professionals, and eventually become the people who shape the future of Ukrainian product IT,” says Oleksandr Fedorov, CEO of OBRIO.

Product Analytics Course

As part of the partnership, FICE, OBRIO, and Genesis will develop the educational component “Methods and Tools of Product Analytics.” OBRIO experts will contribute as guest lecturers for 122 third- and fourth-year FICE students.

During a series of classes, C-level executives and senior specialists from the company will analyze real-world product cases, introduce students to modern analytics tools, and share their practical experience.
The course will conclude with a Fuckup Night, where the speakers will discuss their own professional mistakes and explain how these experiences influenced their professional development.

Support for Students and Academic Staff

At the same time, OBRIO will launch an open scholarship program for FICE students. Three winners will receive scholarships of UAH 40,000, UAH 28,000, and UAH 20,000, respectively, as well as career consultations, exclusive access to company events, and an opportunity to get to know the team better.

A separate initiative will support the professional development of FICE academic staff: Genesis will provide consulting support for the launch of educational projects, while OBRIO will offer two grants of $1,000 each.

“We are convinced that quality higher education today cannot develop separately from the real business environment. That is why Genesis is helping build a partnership between Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute and OBRIO.

Its goal is to integrate product expertise into fundamental university education and develop an educational ecosystem in which students gain practical experience, academic staff acquire new tools and approaches, and Ukrainian businesses gain access to highly qualified specialists,” says Oleksii Nyshchyk, Chief Growth Officer at Genesis.

Case Clubs

In addition to the educational program, OBRIO will launch a series of regular Case Club meetings. Students will work on real-world product cases, learn to find solutions as a team, and receive feedback from company experts.

“For the university, it is important to develop partnerships that create additional opportunities for students and academic staff. The cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, OBRIO, and Genesis is an example of mature collaboration in which business becomes a co-creator of the educational process.

We value the companies’ willingness to invest in future specialists, the professional development of academic staff, educational courses, and new learning formats. This comprehensive approach is what delivers long-term results,” emphasizes Olena Khalus, Deputy Dean of FICE.
