“We train highly qualified specialists in the field of IT technologies and digital solutions for the energy sector, ecology, medicine, and the economy,” states the website of the Department of Digital Technologies in Energy (DTE) at the Institute of IATE. The quality of the students’ training is evidenced, in particular, by their academic and research achievements.

Yulia Sydorenko, the deputy head of the DTE Department responsible for educational and mentoring work, talks aboutVladyslav Korin, a student of the DTE Department and recipient of the President of Ukraine’s scholarship.
Vladyslav Korin—a student in group TR-21—is a diligent, responsible, and motivated student with high academic achievements in all subjects. Throughout his studies at the university, starting from the second semester of his first year, he has received an increased scholarship.

“Choosing this institution for my studies and my future major was an obvious choice for me. KPI is a university with great opportunities for students in technical fields; it’s a place where you want to grow: strong departments, modern laboratories, and a unique atmosphere of student life,” Vladyslav shares. He continues: “My expectations for my studies have been met, as I’ve gained a solid foundation of knowledge and opportunities for academic growth, and the faculty members of the Department of Digital Technologies in Energy at the Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Power Engineering have become true mentors and powerful motivators for me to move forward. In addition, the university offers numerous opportunities to participate in research clubs, hackathons, technical projects, conferences, and internships."

It is worth noting that Vladyslav Korin takes full advantage of these favorable conditions for self-development. He participates in international scientific and practical conferences and is the author of scientific publications on the research of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the energy sector, as well as the prospects for introducing artificial intelligence into the educational process as a tool for transforming modern education, including publications in the scientific and practical journal “WayScience” – "Modern Movement of Science: Proceedings of the 16th International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference.“

As is often the case, a talented person has more than one gift. Vladyslav’s peers and colleagues know him as an enthusiastic amateur photographer. For three consecutive years, his photographs were recognized among the best at the ”KPI Talents" art competition. In 2024, he took third place in the educational and cultural event “Modern Technology in Our Life” and, as part of a team, participated in the “IASA Champ '24” online competition for students. In addition, Vladyslav has a way with words and possesses a deep knowledge of the Ukrainian language and literature, making him an annual participant in the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition and the Taras Shevchenko International Language and Literature Competition.

Vladyslav notes that receiving the Presidential Scholarship is a great honor and a prestigious award, which confirms that his research activities under the academic guidance of Associate Professor Larysa Kubliy and his daily hard work are not in vain but yield results. This motivates him to move forward and set more challenging goals for himself.

The young specialist sees his future in the profession he is currently mastering: he plans to work in the field of “Computer Science.” "It is important to me that my future work is beneficial and ensures professional development. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I plan to continue my studies in the master’s program at the Department of DTE of the Institute of IATE and engage in research,” says Vladyslav.

The student is grateful to KPI for the up-to-date knowledge, opportunities for learning and professional development, and the chance to meet new people, because Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has a special atmosphere—a unique community that brings together people who strive to create, explore, and change the world.
